Overview
This course offers students the opportunity to understand how the modern art market came about and investigate its influences. The programme will look at key aspects of the economics of the art market including supply and demand, price, the market itself and what makes sense in a business model but overall – how economic factors can influence art.
Delivered by Frédéric Gonand, Professor of Economics at the University Paris Dauphine and the Ecole du Louvre, this course will provide students with a solid grounding in how and why the current art market functions as it does today.
The programme is delivered virtually via the Zoom platform. Recordings of all virtual sessions will be made available for viewing if you are unable to attend the ‘live’ presentations.
